Why do you have days off school?

Holidays and Traditions

Sunday is the 'sabbath' day when God rested after creating the world. Therefore we take the day off to 'praise' God. Which I doubt a lot of people do use the day to do. As for Saturday, I am not quite sure, maybe it just gradually became the 'weekend' as we know it today? (References: Old Testament, Bible)
