- Sport is traumatic by default. Any kind, except maybe chess or eSports.
The main problem is incompetence: of a coach or doctors who do not know how to work with athletes, maintaining them at a high level of physical fitness without harm to health. Or the wrong choice of physical activity. A teenager or child should be researched by a specialist in order to understand what types of load he is prone to: he is a sprinter or stayer, whether his psychotype is suitable for working in a team. - What kind of injuries do people come to you with most often?

- With a breakdown in adaptation due to for the fact that at the time of the beginning of the training, novice athletes were biomechanically unbalanced. These are problems with the musculoskeletal system, for example, incipient scoliosis or problems with joints. Every day onloading a zone with unbalanced biomechanics, we get a greater expenditure of reserves of forces aimed at compensating for existing violations. Then the house of cards falls apart, and many have to leave the sport. Therefore, the first challenge that we face is to reduce the basic design of the body architecture to less energy consumption. For example, standing on one leg, we expend more energy than when standing on two. We need, figuratively speaking, to put a person on two legs. Build lines and a center of gravity in such a way that we don't waste extra energy, but we can use the saved energy to improve sports results.

- Is it possible for an athlete to take care of the conservation of this energy on his own? Are there any methods?

- Yes, but the question arises: is it possible to lift yourself by the hair? Most often, when working with the body, you need an external fulcrum with which it can be balanced. To some extent, we can cope on our own, but most of the time, we ourselves will not be able to correctly diagnose and prescribe treatment. Most often this leads to unpleasant consequences. Because pain is a defense mechanism. If we eliminate it with painkillers, then we do not solve the problem of its occurrence. Pain is always a very important signal, and I would not recommend skipping the diagnostic stage.

- Most often there is an attempt stage. I tried, ran, I got sick. A man goes to an orthopedist, makes an x-ray of the local joint. And you have no problem with it, but for some reason it is overloaded. Lubricate it with anesthetic cream !. The runner follows the recommendation, begins to exercise, without worrying, but afterin a month it hurts ten times more. This is a very common story.

An osteopath considers the body and the biomechanical model of movement in general. When running, the problem may not be associated with the knee, but with the fact that half of the pelvis moves worse, and this is due to hypertonicity of the muscles of the lower back, and it may be due to an injury to the rib on the opposite side or a problem associated with a previous injury or surgery. - There are high-tech coatings that compensate for the shock and landing of the foot - these are complex polymers. Asphalt is definitely not the kind of surface I would recommend running on. Smooth ground, in my opinion, is a good compromise option.

- Now let's imagine that sports are contraindicated for a person for some reason. Either he is physically unable to exercise, or he has a serious illness that puts an end to even going to the gym. What to do to maintain health and keep muscles in good shape?

- In my opinion, there are practically no such health conditions that would completely exclude sports. For example, using our mirror neurons works great, so even sports television includes us in the exercise process. Or, if one area of ​​the body is turned off, you can train the opposite one and use mirrors so that the brain thinks that the diseased side is acting and begins to recover it faster.

Different types of body weight loads are available to most. At the stage of recovery after injuries, even severe ones, you can give a small load, gradually increasing it and increasing the range of motion, coming to a motor balance. Also, most people can walk - this is a great form of physical activity.

- We have a central nervous system and pperipheral. The central nervous system is the brain and spinal cord, the PNS is the rest of the nervous system. If we are talking about the central nervous system and the psyche, then the question arises. Every year we see an improvement in results in sports disciplines. Why is this happening? What is the infinity of the human body's resources?

- Apparently, in motivation and training.

- Of course. The technique of the training process and the principles of basic selection are changing. That is, we have learned to select from a large number of potentially successful adolescents those who will show a higher result, and we will properly feed them, train and, which is very important, motivate them. Volitional regulation for doing sports is a whole science, but it's more about psychology. A neurological story is about how to teach a person to move correctly, alternate load and rest, eat right and balanced, recover from stress and injuries.

- Speaking of professional athletes, can they be healthy at all, if they approach the exercises correctly, will they be observed by an osteopath and other specialists? Can professional sports not injure health at all?

- I think that one of the main goals of all those who make money in professional sports is not to get injured. For this, there must be competent specialists at the stage of selection in childhood in order to understand which sport to send a child to. Then you need constant monitoring, taking into account the fact that children are going through puberty. It is necessary to monitor what happens to the little person who takes on heavy loads. Determine if he copes with them psychologically. The next stage is the transition to more professional training. Here, the level of injury increases, and we need to know how long a person recovers, how to conserve energy by compensating for biomechanical disorders.

It is important that recovery from injuries is comprehensive. It should be in line with modern technology, methodology and involve physical rehabilitation specialists. In Russia, there is practically no alternative to osteopaths, whose understanding of biomechanics is at a very high level.

- How can you generally understand that the muscles, spine, and nervous system are healthy? Can a person himself identify this by sensations?
