I want to go there: 8 most beautiful sports grounds in the world

What do you need to do sports? Time, mood, and, of course, place. Not every sport requires special equipment, but space is a must. At the same time, it is much more comfortable to practice in a pleasant-looking place than to come to training in a gym with shabby walls or on a field with a vegetable garden instead of a lawn. That is why architects and designers increasingly pay attention not only to the functional readiness of sports facilities, but also to their aesthetics. We have collected eight of the most beautiful sports grounds from around the world that are a pleasure to play.

Rooftop Futsal, Japan

Probably the most scenic futsal court is at rooftop of Tokyu department store, next to Shibuya station, in Tokyo. In 2001, a year before the FIFA World Cup in Japan and South Korea, Adidas Futsal Park opened there. He gained incredible popularity. An hour of play on the roof at regular times costs from $ 54, and during peak hours the price can exceed $ 205.

Golf Course in Coeur d'Alene, USA

Coeur-d'Alene Resort is located on the northern shore of Coeur-d'Alene Lake in Coeur-d'Alene, Idaho. They obviously did not think long over the names. Apparently, all the fantasy went to the improvement of the main city resort. A unique golf course was built on its territory, the 14th hole of which is located on a mobile island. The island, built on a barge on submerged rails, travels between 87 and 183 m every day using a computer. Players are taken to hole 14 by a water taxi.

Designer Scott Miller designed the court to resemble a park. The prestigious Golf Digest and Golf Magazine have recognized this field as one of the best in the US.

Black tennis court, Laver Cup

Laver Cup is an exhibition tournament between the team of Europe and the team the world. For the first time in history, it was held in Prague in 2017. One of the main distinguishing features of the tournament is the black court. This color even has an official name - Laver Cup Black. Black is not used in any of the Grand Slam tournaments. The design of the court was carried out by the British company Designwerk, which had previously worked with UEFA, Nike and Manchester United.

Tony Godsick, general director of the tournament, explains the color choice for the court by saying that black is a symbol of sophistication. The tournament organizers deliberately slowed down the court coverage so that the rallies wereThey rolled longer. To do this, they added sand to the paint, but in small quantities so as not to lighten it.

To draw attention to the tournament, in February 2017 tennis players Roger Federer and Tomas Berdych played on a mini-version of a black court installed directly on the boat. The drifting platform appeared to the eyes of numerous spectators in Prague, on the Vltava River. A lot of balls were missing then.

A journey you will never forget. And it's not that expensive.

Tennis court at Burj Al Arab Tower, UAE

This tennis court is the highest located in the world. It is located almost at the very top of the Burj Al Arab, which is 321 meters high. The court has a round shape and is used as a helipad on days when no matches are played.

The hotel itself is located on an artificial island 280 meters from Jumeirah Beach and is connected to the coast by a private curved bridge. In 2005, during a tennis tournament in Dubai, Roger Federer and Andre Agassi played a small match on the court in Burj al-Arab.

Surely many of you wondered: what if, in pursuit of the ball, you stumble and fly out out of court? Do not worry. It is almost impossible to fall off the platform - there is a deep wire mesh at its edges below.

Floating stadium, Singapore

This stadium is on a floating platform in Marina Bay, Singapore ... The stands are located on the shore and can seat 30 thousand spectators. The field itself is also used as a concert venue, being the largest floating stage in the world.

The platform, made of steel, is 120 m long and 83 m wide. There is no need to fear for the players, it can withstand 1070 tons of weight, which is approximately equal to the weight of 9 thousand people.

The platform is also used for Formula 1 races . A section of the Marina Bay circuit runs between the stands and the stadium during the Singapore Grand Prix.

Otmar Hitzfeld Stadium, Switzerland

Swiss Football Club GsponAlthough it is a sporting success, its stadium is truly impressive. And the point is not at all in the large size, original architectural solutions and modern technologies, but in the location. The arena is located in the Swiss Alps near the Zermatt resort, above the Saastal valley at an altitude of about 2 thousand meters, which makes the stadium the highest located in Europe.

The builders had difficulty in finding a plane suitable for the construction of the stadium. There was not enough space to accommodate a full-sized field, so its scale is 3/4 of the accepted one. The lawn was planted on artificial turf. I had to do this because the grass grows poorly at that height.

Fun fact: The stadium is too high for transport to reach, so all players, including the coaching staff, use the cable car from the nearby village of Stalden to the matches. In addition, there are only standing areas on the court.

Pigalle Duperré basketball court, France

This basketball court is located between two residential buildings in Paris, in the Pigalle district. Opposite it is the Pigalle fashion brand store, whose founder, former basketball player Stefan Ashpool, decided in 2009 to turn this courtyard into a place to practice his favorite sports. In 2015, Ill-Studio artists collaborated with Pigalle to paint it in an early 20th century avant-garde style using red, yellow, blue and white. It turned out to be a real work of art. The artists chose the palette, inspired by Kazimir Malevich's painting Sportsmen (1930).

In 2017, the design of the site was again changed. This time, the colors are based on synthetic shades of blue, pink, purple and orange. The basketball backboards are made of translucent fluorescent pink plastic.

Due to the extremely small the size of the yard does not meet basketball standards. There is also no three-point line in the markup.

Football field in Meshchersky Park, Moscow

A unique football field in excellent condition is located in Meshchersky Park in Moscow. It is located right in the middle of the trees, which creates a unique atmosphere of unity with the forest, and the view from above is just a fairy tale!

This place is admired not only in Russia, but also in other countries of the world. Mexican journalist Alberto Lati from Fox Sports TV, arriving in Moscow, could not resist the temptation and overcame the difficult path to find this field. Paradise for football - that's what he said about what he saw.

From morning until 16:00, the field is open to everyone, and to play from 16:00 to 22:00, you must book the stadium in advance for a fee. The field is equipped with an artificial turf made of the latest generation material with the addition of coconut flakes. It will be much more comfortable to train on this one. The size of the site is small: 60x40 m.
