February main race: running for ours
On February 10, in Moscow, in Victory Park on Poklonnaya Gora, a race will take place in support of Russian athletes at the 2018 Olympic Games.
Why is this race so important?
December 5, 2017 IOC removed the Russian Olympic team from the Olympics in Pyeongchang, allowing Olympic athletes from Russia to compete in neutral status. On December 12, 2017, at a meeting of the Russian Olympic Committee, all athletes allowed to participate in the Olympic Games unanimously decided to compete in Pyeongchang. Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the decision of our athletes.
Russians were deprived of the right to play under the flag of their country, but officials from the IOC could not and will never be able to deprive the Russian national team of the main thing - the support of their fans. In this difficult hour, we decided to unite and show: Russia is not only a national team of athletes under the Olympic flag. Russia is all of us!
On the first official day of the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, in a place with the symbolic name Victory Park, adults and children, hand in hand with famous athletes, will run 500 meters and 5 km in support of our guys in Pyeongchang. There will be no politics, only one thing is important here: to show Russian athletes that they are not alone, that the country is behind them. And together we are one team.
Olympic champions run with us
They run with us: two-time Olympic champion in artistic gymnastics Elena Zamolodchikova, two-time Olympic champion in fencing Tatyana Logunova, Olympic champion in synchronized swimming Alla Shishkina, Olympic medalists in their respective forms: Gleb Galperin (diving), Anton Golotsutskov (artistic gymnastics), Yuri Yatsev (water polo) and Stanislava Komarova (swimming), multiple world synchronized swimming champion Daria Vakurova, multiple world champion in rhythmic gymnastics Olga Kapranova and many others!
