Once in my life there was not a very fun period, and even I, an optimist by nature, felt a little sad. I decided to cook at home with recipes from various American food blogs to distract and relieve stress. As a result, I felt what a thrill it is to be able to cook in 30 minutes not everyone's familiar Olivier or grilled turkey, but what you order in a restaurant is only much tastier.

- Now there are so many different interesting formats: blog, vlog, motion graphics, talk shows, why did you choose a book to tell your story?
- That's right - there are many options. And the blog, for example, attracts me very much. Perhaps I will come to this. However, the book is a very convenient format. And the only one that you can give. This is something physical, tangible. Paper smell, rubberized cover, bright colors. You can cook from a book, put it on a table and make it part of the interior. I thought about this when I created it.

- Why is the book about breakfasts, and not about lunches or dinners? Is breakfast really such an important part of the day for you?
- Your day begins with breakfast. It is logical that a lot depends on him. Even on a subconscious level. A delicious and beautiful breakfast can cheer you up for the whole day. I'm sure you might even wake up early for a good breakfast. I associate breakfast with travel, with places where I was happy. I wanted to convey a piece of my mood along with the recipes that I included in my book.

- What is this story about - about calories, proteins, fats and carbohydrates or aesthetics and pleasure from eating?
- Despite the fact that I follow what I eat, this book is primarily about pleasure and aesthetics. Although there is a whole section with light breakfasts, so everyone can find something in the book for themselves. In general, the only time you can afford a little more is breakfast, so why not take advantage of this opportunity?

- What ingredients are most often used in the book? How difficult will it be to find them on a supermarket shelf? What's your favorite and most versatile ingredient?
- All the ingredients I use can be found in the store. There is no problem with that. I like to use a lot of berries and fruits, smoothies. Almond milk, eggs and cheese. Different types of ham.

- You travel a lot, the gastronomic traditions of which countries are closest to you? Did they find some reflection in your book?
- Of course! I have tried many breakfasts during my travels. For example, avocado toast. I have many stories connected with him.

- What does your ideal breakfast look like - with a glass of champagne or a cup of cappuccino?
- On weekdays - coffee, of course, but on weekends a glass of champagne and a good company are an excellent accompaniment to any morning meal.

- In the preface you wrote that at one time your hobby for cooking saved you from depression. Do you think the process of cooking and eating really affects us that much?
- I think this process distracts us greatly from any thoughts. This is a great reflection and a way to cheer yourself up.

Recipes from Artem Korolev

The best scramble

You will need:
4 eggs
1 tbsp. a spoonful of butter and salt and pepper to taste.

1. Preheat a skillet over medium-low heat. Temperature is very important because if the pan is very hot, the eggs can lose their rich yellow color. Add enough oil to completely cover the bottom.
2. Combine the eggs and add them to the skillet when the butter just starts to bubble. Add the mixture exactly to the center of the pan.
3. Watch the edges of your scramble. As soon as you see that they begin to solidify, take a spatula with a silicone tip and move the mass from the edges to the center, in a circle, without turning over the clots. Continue doing this until the scramble is ready - about 2-3 minutes. Don't wait until the eggs are fully cooked - the ideal scramble should be slightly moist.

Tip: You can serve the resulting scramble with anything - ham, tomatoes, spinach. Or make the perfect sandwich with it.

Toast with smoked salmon

You will need:
1 ripe avocado
1 tbsp. spoon sour cream
1 lemon
½ radish
fresh dill
1 tbsp. a spoonful of apple cider vinegar
rye bread (cut thinly)
200 g smoked salmon
watercress (bunch)
leaves of corn salad
olive oil
salt, freshly ground pepper.

1. Puree the avocado and stir in the sour cream. Add some lemon juice to keep the avocado from browning. Add salt and pepper.
2. Chop the radish thinly, then the dill and mix it with apple cider vinegar and a pinch of salt.
3. Spread the avocado mesh over the toast and place the salmon slices on top.
4. Then add lettuce, herbs and radishes, drizzle with olive oil and serve, servingav lemon.

English Pizza Muffin

You will need:
1 English Muffin, halved
1 small tomato, diced
1 teaspoon olive oil
1-2 thin diced bacon slices (bacon can be substituted with ham)
½ cup grated mozzarella cheese
minced fresh basil, for serving

1. Preheat oven to 230 degrees. Place the muffin halves on a baking sheet, place the tomatoes on top and drizzle with olive oil.
2. Sprinkle bacon over the tomatoes and add mozzarella.
3. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the cheese melts and begins to cover with a delicious crust.
4. Sprinkle with basil and serve!
